Walter's (Carrey) wife picks up a book for him on his birthday. As he reads the book he starts to see starting similarities between the book and himself. As time goes by the number 23 consumes his life and makes you wonder just how close the book will get to his life.

Jim Carrey once again tries to go into the serious side of acting. I think he does a particularly good job on this one, and the story does have a lot of twists and turns that keep you guessing, but there was a point in this film that I just started looking at my watch hoping for something great to happen. That's the problem with this movie, there's no "great" moments in it. Yes, it has an ok ending and Jim Carrey's performance was actually exceptional, but there was so many holes in the story and no "a-ha!" moments that made me want to actually buy this movie.
