A palyboy author down on his luck is witness to the grisly death of he young woman in the room next to him, room 2046. He deals with his emotions by writing science fiction stories centered around the room and the women involved. The line between fiction and reality is blurred in this surrealistic tale of a man in the prime of his life, failing at living a normal life.
