Bill Munny (Clint Eastwood), a retired gunman, comes back to activity when he finds out that 1000 dollars are being offered to kill the men who had cut a prostitute's face. In this service, two other gunmen follow him and they all together need to confront themselves with an English (Richard Harris), that also desires the reward, and with a xerife (Hackman Gene), who doesn't want tumult in his city.
