Not exactly a movie, but more like a savage beating that you still wind up enjoying. Requiem for a Dream follows a group of family and friends through their downhill spiral, short respite, and further plummet all caused by drugs. The movie's plot perfectly paralles a strong drug's effects. There's intial struggle to get what you want, the euphoric high, then the unbearable plummet afterwards. Some can survive the crash, some can't.
