Based on the novel by Stephen King, The Shing starts out with a boy named Danny who has an invisible friend named Tony. The family goes up into the mountains to watch over a hotel during the winter, and there he meets somebody who has a gift called The Shining. Danny learns that he has the gift, too. Once everybody leaves the hotel, things only get worse.
