Frank Keller (Al Pacino) is an agent in New York, divorced, drinking to much, and only lives for his work. As a serial killer kills men in their sleeping room, the trail leads to a woman who chooses her victoms in the newspaper. Together with Sherman (John Goodman), Frank places his own piece in the paper, hoping it would lead them to the killer... and it does, but closer than they hoped for... The problem: Frank falls in love with one of the suspects (Ellen Barkin). A love that soon turns into an obsession.

Didn't think much of it at first, but when the action came in, i thought it was just as good as "Carlito's Way."
