Internationally acclaimed writer-director Lars von Trier (Academy Award® nominated - BREAKING THE WAVES and DANCER IN THE DARK) tells a tale of a near-commune whose members forsake their middle-class complacency to share their explosive appetite for a life in which they confront society. Led by Stoffer (Jens Albinus) they act like idiots - pretending to be spastic and performing socially unacceptable acts in public. The stakes are raised when a party turns into a group sexual experience. As the idiocy escalates, Stoffer issues a challenge to go native (into everyday life) - a challenge that will force some members to leave - but some will accept.
