This movie is very artistic. The colors and the way it was shot was very impressive. Tim Burton movies are always very subtle and silent but also very mind-blowing
I thought this movie was fun. If I had known a little more about the play I feel like I might have enjoyed it more. I don't think anyone could have done it better than Burton-- it's like the story was written for him. With that being said, I think Burton has fallen into a cycle of almost parodying himself and he hasn't challenged himself with any kind of new concept lately. The audience knew exactly what to expect with "Sweeny Todd", just like his other films.
Surprisingly, Depp sings pretty well. Per usual, Burton employs the ever so dark, chromatic, combative color schemes and elements to create a lovely, grim and fun musical.
Again, Tim Burton, Johnny Depp, can't go wrong. The two of them are freakin wierd, but they make beautiful art.
