Quite the epic ride from oft-Shakespearean director Julie Taymor. This film is an adaptation of Shakespeare's most violent play "Titus Andronicus". Victorious general, Titus (Anthony Hopkins), returns to Rome with hostages in tow - Tamora (Jessica Lange), the queen of the Goths, and her sons. Romantic and political entanglements engage demonstrative violence utilized with decapitations and removal of human tongues, hands, vengeful rapes, adultery and bigotry.
