Angry at being swindled, Samba-stepping Iowa native Joe Bascom (Lou Costello) follows slippery con man Harry Lambert (Bud Abbott) to Mexico City. Bascom has taken the deed to a mine, which has led him into the center of a swindle, and soon he must escape from the consul while trying to get his money back. The two manage to elude detectives, become involved with a beautiful singer (that they have mysteriously met somewhere before), and end up in a ring, chased by an enraged bull. Based on a musical by Cole Porter, the screenplay is packed with ironic wit.
