What are brownie points and how do they work?

Brownie points are a system we designed that show who's been using the site's features most heavily. Every time you perform an action on the site (adding a title to your collection, rating a title, adding a summary to a title, etc.) you are given a marginal amount of brownie points. Your brownie point total is listed on your homepage along with your rank based on the amount of brownie points you have.
